About the CBD Program

This program will guide the candidates through the concepts of blockchain technology, cryptoeconomics, and product design (UX). By completing the program, participants will be able to understand the theoretical underpinnings of how to apply design-thinking, systems-thinking, and exponential-thinking into the design of blockchain (distributed/decentralized) solutions. In addition, participants will have a deep and wide understanding of the social impact this technology can have. Participants will get to review UX case-studies within the blockchain space, learn more about existing solutions, and receive guidance from industry experts on how to design an effective blockchain solution. There will be a strong focus on Ethereum.

This program consists of three days intensive training course and one week of group work on a capstone project. You will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

  • CBP Certification  or Profound knowledge of blockchain technology

  • Existing UX Designers/Researchers with an interest in blockchain

Course Modules

This program consists of three days intensive training course and one week of group work on a capstone project. You will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

Module1-Intensive Training Module (3 days)

Day 1 – High-Level

9:00 to 10:00am: What blockchain and design is! This will be a quick recap of how blockchain and product design relates to each other. Blockchain is first and foremost a design principle. What are the affordances with regards to blockchain?

10:00 to 11:00am: Innovation-Thinking – a combination of design-thinking + exponential-thinking + systems-thinking

11:00 to 12:00pm: How Cryptoeconomics and Tokenization relates to UX Design?

1:00 to 3:00pm: Discussion on blockchain protocols such as consensus and oracles; and how this relates to design.Discussion on behavioural economics and how this relates to blockchain

3:00 to 5:00pm: Circular Economies and Circular Design as well as Social Innovation/Impact

Day 2 – Mid-Level

9:00 to 10:00am: Decentralized Governance and how does this relates to design

10:00 to 11:00am: Proof of X – what all these “Proof of ___” mean? And how does this relate to design

11:00am to 12pm: Discussion on additional blockchain concepts such as Escrow, Public vs. Private vs. Permissioned blockchains, gas, etc. and how it relates to product design as well as business design. The ultimate goal of this section is to talk about what the potential new business model of the Web 3.0 world will be. Cloud computing gave birth to Software-as-a- Service as well as IaaS and PaaS. But now, with distributed computing and decentralized applications what will be the new business model?

1:00 to 3:00pm: Gamification + Blockchain + UX Design

3:00 to 5:00pm: Blockchain and Data Visualization

Day 3 – UX Case-study

9:00 to 10:00am: Case-Study #0: lightning discussions on all the existing applications of blockchain which tackle low-hanging fruit problems.

10:00 to 12:00pm: Case-Study #1: real-world example (higher-hanging fruit)

1:00 to 3:00pm: Case-Study #2: personal project

3:00 to 5:00pm: Case-Study #3: speculative design

Module2-Capstome Project Submission (7 days)

students will design a Minimum Lovable Product in the form of a clickable prototype or whatever other form factor that makes the most sense in order to illustrate their understanding of what they’ve learned.

Certification Procedure

You will receive a certificate upon completion of the course. Participants must attend all program modules and successfully complete the take-home assignment/exam to receive a certificate. Once the certificate is granted, it will be hashed on the Ethereum blockchain and is globally accessible for further verification.

Program Changes

We will make every effort to present the program as advertised, but it may be necessary to change the date, location, instructors or content with little or no notice. In the event of program cancellation, Blockchain Hub’s liability is limited to reimbursement of paid fees.

Cancellations and Substitutions
